Meet Clunk! Guess how he got his name...
Clunk is a very simple Arduino robot I made with my kids back in 2014. The chassis, motors, and wheels came from a thrift store r/c car. We even managed to use the controller as the battery pack! The only sensors were two buttons pulled off of a VCR which were used to read bumper impact. The brain was an Arduino Mega, way overkill for this project but what I had at the time. The code only made the robot do either a left or right reverse turn based on impacted sensor, then drive forward.
The kids had a lot of fun with it and it was a great intro for me to the vast world of Arduino and other microcontrollers.
